This August, wine visionary Lawrence Fairchild will release his latest creation – the $11,500 Perrarus 3. A design not seen since ancient times, the bottle is modelled after Greek and Roman amphoras with delicate handles and an elegantly pointed base. FOUR takes a closer look ahead of its launch…

Perrarus 3’s shape takes inspiration from Dionysus, the ancient Greek god of wine, winemaking, and grape cultivation, while the bottle’s colours celebrate history’s most famed artists, Van Gogh, Basquiat, Warhol, Pollack, and Picasso. From the shape (the wine bottle can’t stand on its own) to the colours and the presentation, Perrarus 3 is a collection unlike any other. Inside the bottle is a rare creation from Stones 1-2-3 Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, which are made from Lawrence’s 5 coveted blocks in Napa. One of these blocks shares a fence line with Screaming Eagle.

As with his other annual, sold-out Perrarus collections that change each year, only 350 bottles of Perrarus 3 will be made available. There will only be 50 bottles of each artist, allocated through a lottery with limits of 1 per client purchase. As with all Perrarus collections, Perrarus 3 packaging is meticulously designed, and each bottle will arrive propped up in a multi-coloured translucent box.
