After several years of waiting, Thomas Keller’s brand new restaurant, The Surf Club Restaurant by Chef Thomas Keller, has opened its doors and kitchen to the public. Located in revamped The Surf Club property (9011 Collins Avenue) the highly anticipate venue features a nostalgic, American cuisine with numerous Keller touches.
Offering an old-school, bygone era feel, foodies can expect a vintage dining experience from the Michelin-starred chef. Designed by Martin Brudnizki Design, the space features plenty blues and corals, wood panelling, a beaded ceiling, and stylish art deco chandeliers.
Manuel Echeverri will be at the kitchen’s helm. Manuel, known for his work at The Bazaar and Toscana Divino before teaming up with Keller. The menu is divided into differing sections, with snacks, appetisers, pasta, and main plates.
Starters will include side prepared salads, oysters rockefeller, roasted bone marrow and crab cakes; while pasta options include classics like fettuccine alfredo and broccoli rabe and braised beef lasagna. When it comes to mains, feast upon lobster Thermidor, beef Wellington, eggplant parmesan, veal chops, as well as a large selection of steaks for the carnivores.
