Simon Rogan will be adding to his growing collection of establishments with the recent news that he will be managing two restaurants in Manchester. He will be in charge of two restaurants at the Midland Hotel, one being The French, the other is the unnamed, larger bar and dining room in the hotel.

The French is steeped in history and was the first Michelin star restaurant in the UK when it received the award back in 1974. It does not still own the star but currently holds 2 AA rosettes.

The Hotel is in need of updating and the acquisition of Rogan will certainly add some modernisation into the Manchester landmark. They will be closing in January for refurbishment and aim to reopen in late February.

Many world-famous people have dined at the French and Charles over the years. Stewart Rolls met here with Frederick Henry Royce, which led to the creation of Rolls-Royce Ltd in 1904. Other famous visitors include the Queen Mother.

His most recent restaurant, Roganic, is a two-year pop-up in London and is currently serving to happy customers and glowing reviews. Other establishments belonging to Rogan include L’enclume, Rogan & Co, and the Pig & Whistle pub.
