The first Creative Stage is taking place in Hamburg at the Unilever House today. Presented by Knorr Professional, the event will explore the latest innovations and trends in the art of cooking. Judges and participants of the “Koch des Jahres” (Chef of the Year) competition – international names and newcomers of haute cuisine – will come together and conduct tastings of the 10 best participants of the Chef of the Year competition, while also providing an exclusive look behind the scenes of the host
The Chef of the Year competition is a unique event where the new star chefs of Europe are discovered – chefs that stand out for their innovative creativity. It comes as no surprise that many prominent judges will attend the Creative Stage by the Unilever Food Solutions. Among the 13 representatives are international chef and Chef-of-the-Year president Dieter Müller, Thomas Bühner, Léa Linster, Sebastian Frank and Martina Kömpel. Their culinary expertise will be required to judge the creations of the top 10 participants.
The creations will represent the passion and skill of the young talents and are set to convey the philosophies and ideas behind each dish. Among the judges are also the three winners of previous competitions: Chef of the Year 2013, Christian Sturm-Willms, Christian Singer of the Yu Sushi Club in Bonn, Tim Raue, head chef of his Berlin restaurant, and Enrico Back, sous chef of the gourmet restaurant “Friedrich Franz” in Heiligendamm. The focus of the presentations is as always the taste – what techniques and tricks are used, and how flavours, colours, textures and flavours are applied. In constant dialogue and in a casual atmosphere the different approaches are then discussed.
The programme provides a framework tailored to the technically savvy audience and gives insight into the company’s philosophy and the cooking processes of Knorr Professional. The three brand ambassadors Thomas Bühner, Frank Sebastian and Oliver Scheiblauer will talk about their personal stories and the reasons for their commitment.
