“This recipe is adapted from that most wonderful book Harry Craddock’s peerless 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, one of our favourites from that book indeed, and a suitably ghoulish name for Halloween. Corpse Revivers were actually a whole family of drinks designed primarily to chase away the cobwebs from a previous night’s drinking. There were many different recipes but this is really the only one that you encounter in the modern era. Harry Craddock himself famously observed that:”Four of these taken in swift succession will un-revive the corpse again…”

Ingredients
25mlPortobello Road Gin
25mlCointreau
25mlLillet Blanc
25mlfreshly squeezed lemon juice
Dash Absinthe
Method
First of all fill a cocktail glass with ice and cold water and add a generous dash of Absinthe. Let this stand chilling and aromatising the glass whilst you prepare the drink.Shake all of the other ingredients vigorously with ice in a cocktail shaker, tip the contents of the glass away, give it a quick shake and then strain the drink into the glass. Drop a high quality cocktail cherry in and enjoy.
