Nathan Outlaw is one of Britain’s finest and talented chefs, who has held two Michelin stars for the past two consecutive years for his seafood restaurant ‘Nathan Outlaw’ at the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock, Cornwall.
On 2nd October 2012, Outlaw’s Seafood & Grill at The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge will open, giving the Cornish-based, seafood-championing Nathan Outlaw a London outpost for the first time in his career.
Created by Nina Campbell, the restaurant’s interior will reflect the casual sophistication of the menu, with particular emphasis on views into the kitchen. The sea is referenced through the use of teal in the room and a large, carved seahorse will provide an eye-catching centerpiece. The Seafood & Grill’s wine list will be built around The Capital’s enviable, long-established cellar.
The menu will focus on simply prepared, ecologically sound Cornish seafood and – differing from his Cornish restaurants – sustainable catches from elsewhere in the UK. There will also be a selection of meats, similarly simply prepared on the grill.
The carte changes daily to reflect that day’s catch, and each fish will be paired with a sauce or dressing and a side – although these are merely suggestions. It will run from mackerel to lobster, and typical dishes include Grilled Whole Lemon Sole, Pan Fried Sea Bass Fillet, and Char Grilled Cornish 10oz Rib Eye Steak.
