Massimo Bottura’s Italian hotspot is the best restaurant in the world (once again).

The results are in –  culinary whizz Bottura’s contemporary Italian restaurant has been awarded  the World’s No. 1 Restaurant once again. First awarded the coveted title in 2016, the Italian eatery has reclaimed its crown.

The results also saw a surprising drop for last year’s victor, Eleven Madison Park. The East Hampton eatery fell to No.4 following a year of much-talked-about hype.

It’s no secret that Massimo is a maestro in the kitchen. Renowned for his lighthearted approach to classic dishes, his fondness for art plays out in his food – the deconstructed dessert ‘Oops I Dropped The Lemon Tart’ being a classic example. Bottura’s dishes are just as visual as they are edible, and this craft has led his restaurant to achieve consecutive greatness.

The highly anticipated results of the annual World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards were announced in a ceremony in Bilbao.

Organised by William Reed Business Media, it’screated from the votes of more than 1,000 restaurateurs, chefs, food writers, and gastronomes, with voters spread across 26 of the world’s regions.
