“Food is the new fashion”, says Selfridges. They will be celebrating their artisans and tastemakers with an array of spectacular vitrines, and ‘Meet the Michelins’ event…

In addition todedicating all of Selfridge’s24windows to the tastemakers who defineour food experiences, the way we farm, challenging our perceptions of art in food,Selfridges will also play host to ‘Meet the Michelins’, an exciting and unique opportunity to sample inspiring dishes from the home counties most creative and talented chefs every Monday for five weeks in its London store.Customers will experience over 350 demo’s, in store sampling and food events from tantalising daily demonstrations with top chefs to walking tours of the confectionery and food halls, as well as introducing over 500 new products to the Food Hall.

The Windows

Seen by a weekly audience of over 1 million people per week, each window will showcase the innovators,boundary pushers and food designers that inspire and shake our food world and each window will be brought to life by artisan producers, creators and food artists highlighting their ‘art’ whether it be a gin distiller to an artistic window made entirely of cake. All the artisans taking part in the scheme will also display their products in-store within the FoodHall, and will host dedicatedevening talks regarding their chosen profession.Confirmed artisans include Cannon & Cannon,Fabrique, Meringue Girls, Camden Town Brewery,Cambridge Gin, White Lyan, Wayward Plants, ScottHove, Fernando Laposse.

Meet the Michelins

A first of its kind, Selfridges will play host to a five week schedule with some of the most renowned chefs from England. With a combined number of six Michelin stars between the chefs taking part, customers will have the opportunity to meet and eat, with the finest British talent. Tickets start at £75.

Matt Gillian | The Pass

Monday 7th July

Matt Gillan has been a resident chef at South Lodge since 2006. He took on the role of head chef at The Pass restaurant which launched in November 2008 and was awarded 3 AA rosettes just three months afteropening and now has 4 AA Rosettes as well as 1 Michelin star.

Monday 21 July

Richard Davies is the Executive Chef at The Bybrook and holds 1 Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes.

Conor Toomey | Head Chef, The Restaurant at Storrs Hall

Monday 28th July

Ahead of joining the team at Storrs Hall, Conor regained 3 AA Rosettes at Coworth Park within a year of taking the helm of the restaurant.

Michael Wignall | The Latymer

Monday 18th August

Meet The Bakers | Fabrique

Time is precious at Fabrique. Each loaf is made with ample time and artisanal methods to allow for the mouthwatering tastes of handmade bread to develop. Fabrique’s signature bread is its sourdough, which is stone-baked in a traditional oven. Founded in Stockholm, Fabrique has now opened its first UK bakery in Hoxton, East London.

Meet The Gin Makers | Cambridge Distillery

The Cambridge Distillery team comprises of Master Distiller Will Lowe, his wife Lucy, and their Labrador, Darcy. They distil botanicals they have grown in their garden and foraged for in local fields to create strictly limited volumes of the UK’s first seasonal gin: Cambridge Gin. Delicious, unique and abound with British eccentricity, this is the pinnacle of the 21st century gin renaissance.
