L’Orbe is the story of a new elixir, where a new generation of spirits, a fusion of flavours and original recipes open the door to a unique taste experience. With its First Edition Vodka x Caviar, L’Orbe has combined artisanal avant-garde vodka with exceptional, refined caviar to create the ultimate expression of simplified luxury.

Creating L’Orbe First Edition Vodka x Caviar was a quest for the best infusion methods to seamlessly blend exceptional flavours. Its story began in 2012, with some of the most experienced and visionary minds in the spirits world. A team of master chefs, master distillers, designers, scientists and product experts came together to innovate luxurious sensory experiences and L’Orbe was born. In order to capture the rarest, most precious ingredients in the world, L’Orbe tapped into state-of-the-art technologies developed by the beauty and luxury industries.

Discovering methods of infusing and combining sensations that previously only existed in molecular cuisine, L’Orbe’s creators developed a technique to capture rare ingredients inside a sphere: the “orb”. The ingredients are encapsulated in a glass vial using a unique pearl technology. The pearl protects the ingredient and enables all its flavours to infuse slowly into the spirit, without decay or detriment. L’Orbe disrupts sensory experiences by bringing complexity to white spirits, blending fresh yet delicate spirits with the rarest of delicacies. It makes impossible pairings possible, creating unprecedented infusions, thanks to its patented encapsulation technology.

Micro-encapsulation

Encapsulated in a pearl whose natural membrane is made exclusively of water and algae, each grain of caviar delicately releases its finest flavour in contact with the vodka. This exquisite encounter sets the stage for a first-of-its-kind experience: the first caviar-infused vodka.

Natural infusion

L’Orbe has patented a natural method of infusion, enabling their spirits to offer flavour combinations you won’t find anywhere else. The technique uses no artificial stabilizers, additives or flavourings in order to preserve caviar’s natural integrity.

Rare ingredients

In its quest for perfection, L’Orbe turned towards Olsztyn in Poland. Tucked away in a primal landscape of rocks and water, a traditional farm works in harmony with nature and the life cycles of its sturgeons.

Producing an exceptional caviar that has become a reference for the world’s leading caviar purveyors (Caviar House, Petrossian, etc.), this Polish farm boasts exceptional conditions that enable it to produce the same high-quality caviar year-round.

Royal Baeri Caviar

Selected for the firm yet fragile texture of its grains, Baeri is one of the most sought after caviars in the world. This variety features the tang of the sea and rich woody aromas enhanced with delicate nutty notes and a slightly creamy, buttery mildness.

A vodka with character

Made from high-quality, carefully selected Dankowski Diamond rye and filtered twice over, this Polish vodka is noble and incredibly pure. Its silky, creamy texture, smooth taste and delicate nutty and sweet notes blend perfectly with the Baeri Caviar.

Columnist and spirits expert, Ian Wisniewski, who has authored a number of books on great distilled beverages, described the creation as follows:

“The nose: rich, creamy, with a touch of vanilla and briny notes.

The mouthfeel: a delicately silky texture at the onset followed by an elegant wave of smoothness and slight creaminess. Structured, distinctive notes of caviar then appear, leading into the sweet-savoury pairing.

The finish: Smooth, persistent, the aromatic complexities of this vodka linger along with the full-flavoured taste of caviar.”

The vodka has been tested by the world’s best mixologists, from London’s most legendary club, Annabel’s, to the The Connaught, Folie and the famous Dukes bar. In Paris, the most luxury hotel bars – the Mandarin Oriental, Hotel Lutetia and Four Seasons George V – all of which  are legendary party places celebrated by an international and spirit-savvy clientele, roll out the red carpet for L’Orbe. Its innovative character has captured the imagination of the world’s greatest in the the drinks business.

Clément Emery, Head Bartender at the Royal Monceau in Paris, says:

“I fell in love with this spirit because, for me, it represents both quintessential innovation and the French touch. I had followed its development closely since 2017 because I was convinced that this encapsulation technique to extract flavours was a veritable revolution in the universe of spirits, especially for exploring new horizons featuring delicate and rare flavours. L’Orbe Vodka x Caviar belongs, in my humble opinion, in the luxury spirits category, due to its quality, refinement and unique character. I truly love working with L’Orbe Vodka x Caviar in my cocktails because it encourages me to take creative risks to enhance the delicate nature of the caviar and the diamond rye. With L’Orbe Vodka x Caviar I discovered an exceptional, top shelf spirit, one that generates emotion…”

The exclusively designed bottle is sculpturesque, streamlined and, functional. It defines the spirit’s identity, a designer object inspired by the world’s most beautiful buildings and architecture. References to the Turning Torso skyscraper by Santiago Calatrava Valls in Malmö, and spherical inspirations from minimalist painter Robert Mangold can be seen. Designed by interior architecture firm Studio Nocc, the L’Orbe bottle embodies the image of a “fusion between elements, shapes that fit together and find balance featuring the circle.” Produced in Jarnac in south-west France, the L’Orbe bottle is crowned with a slightly concave black top. In the words of its designers: “We played with balance and curves to create a new sensuali ty, using total transparency to display the column of caviar spheres.”

Pairing

To accompany a glass of L’Orbe Vodka x Caviar, chefs recommend your favourite seafood: sushi and sashimi are the very best, followed by smoked salmon, lobster, crab, oysters, langoustine, etc. The Vodka x Caviar pairing blends subtly with the savoury notes of gazpacho, steak or tuna tartar and is enhanced with Wagyu premium beef. It also pairs perfectly with sweet notes including white chocolate.

On the rocks

Poured simply over ice, L’Orbe Vodka x Caviar invites you on a moment of pure discovery and pure sensations. Another option: add a slice of fresh ginger for an original flavour sensation.
