Try gourmet Italian dining with a French twist this summer at L’Altro, the sister restaurant of the two Michelin-star, Miramonti L’altro, in Brescia, Italy.

Hong Kong is a long way away from the shores of the Mediterranean, but not for much longer. With the new summer menu from Marimonti L’Altro chef, Philippe Leveille, Asia’s first flagship venue will see the delights of Europe grace its tables.

Describing his cuisine, Leveille states that his style is,”Greedy, buttered, generous and never brainy”.His gastronomic training has taken his from his birthplace of Nantes, France to Italy, where he honed in his skills of gourmet Italian cuisine with a French twist.

Included in the new menu are appetisers, mains and desserts that have all been inspired by the signature dishes at his famed 2-star venue, Marimonti L’Altro in Brescia.Apart from being recognised as one of Italy’s most influential chefs by prestigious magazine “Grande Cucina”, Chef Philippe also has a celebrity following including Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Grace Jones, Eros Ramazotti and President Francesco Cossiga.

He will join the Hong Kong Chef de Cuisine, chef Mauro Zacchetti, to present the menu in all its glory at the fashionable LPlace in the Central area of Hong Kong.

FOUR can reveal that the new summer menu’s will include appetisers such as;Soft Japanese Egg and Asparagus, sprinkled with garlic bread crumbs and drizzled with capers soya milk mayonnaise Mediterranean Red Tuna in Fresh Cherry Tomato Sauce with Basil Sorbet, served with parmesan cheese cookie and “One Side” Roasted Scallops, with watermelon sauce & salad. New ‘must try’ pastas include;Lobster Ravioli with Crispy Lobster Jus Popcorn, hand-made spaghetti with Italian clams in a seawater emulsion and the chef’s famous Miramonti L’altro Risotto with Mushrooms and Sweet Cheese.

Four new main courses from the kitchen include a seafood symphony of line-caught Sea Bass, Mussels and Clams, served in fragrant fresh basil sauce, Lobster and Crustaceans Soup with Brioche. With meaty summer highlights including lightly smoked Wagyu Beef M8 in a kaleidoscope of vegetable colours and textures as well as Roasted Baby Lamb Striploin, served traditionally with fried potato napoleon and black olives.

There will also be new divine additions to L’Altro’s desserts which include the classic Gelato Miramonti, Cherries, Pistachio and Coconut Meringue and a decadent east-meets-west innovation of Lychee, Champagne and Raspberries.

So if you want to enjoy the freshness of seasonal ingredients and fruit from Europe, whilst in the ultra modern setting of The L Place, Hong Kong then head to L’Altro and dine like you are in the Med.
