Harrods department store is teaming up with the renowned chefs congress, Identità Golose, to host the ultimate Italian lunch with a group of the country’s top chefs, taking place on 28 April 2013

On Sunday 28thApril, Harrods will be playing host to seven of the world’s top Italian chefs, Massimo Bottura, the brothers Enrico and Roberto Cerea, Carlo Cracco, Gennaro Esposito, Luciano Monosilio andDavide Scabin. The chefs, who share a total of 13 Michelin stars between them, will join forces with the renowned Milanese chef’s congress, Identità Golose, to serve the ultimate Italian culinary experience at Identità London, being held in Harrods’ The Georgian restaurant.

Identità Golose is a culinary organisation which aims to highlight the best of contemporary Italian cuisine by showcasing some of the best culinary excellence from various Italian regions and honouring top Italian chefs who, whilst working with modern methods, manage to blend these with traditional Italian techniques, to keep the authenticity of Italian cuisine alive. Founded in 2004 by Italian journalist Paolo Marchi and Claudio Ceroni, the first Identità Golose event was held in Milan in 2005 and following its success, has since launched London in 2009 and Identita New York in 2010.

Identità London at Harrods is the latest in a series of culinary events for Identità Golose and for the department store which has recently housed a whole host of restaurant launches, such as the The French Laundry pop-up in 2011 and the launches of Galvin Demoiselle Petit Bistro and Bentley’s Sea Grill in 2012. Identità London will being some of the world’s top chefs to Harrods for one day only and offers guests what Paul Goodale, Director of Restaurants and Kitchens at Harrods, says is set to be an “unforgettable experience.”

Each chef will create a dish for the seven-course lunch. Bothers Enrico and Roberto Cerea, from three Michelin-starred restaurant Da Vittorio, will create a salted codfish salad with codfish tripe and smoked potato mousse starter, along with dessert. Massimo Bottura will be serving one of the signature dishes from his three Michelin-starred restaurant, Osteria Grancescana – which is ranked at number 5 in The World’s Best Restaurants list. Head chef of Ristoriante Cracco, Carlo Cracco, will be serving a starter of saffron poached egg with courgettes. His restaurant is currently ranked at 55thin the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, while Davide Scabin, who will create a pasta shake for the event, is chef proprieter of Monbal.Zero, currently ranked 59thon the prestigious list, sponsored by San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.

Other dishes that will be served during the lunch are white fish with aromatic herb crust with a chlorophyll reduction, created by Gennaro Esposit, chef at two Michelin-starred restaurant La Torre Del Saracino, as well as the carbonara of one of Italy’s youngest Michelin-starred chefs, Luciano Monosilio.

Taking place in Harrods’ Georgian Restaurant, the lunch is set to be served in a typical relaxed, Italian style – over an afternoon and around an informal and intimate dining setup, where guests of tables of up to ten have the opportunity to liaise with one another and the chefs, and watch them perform the finishing touches to dishes, before their very eyes. Included in the dinner is a special selection of Italian wine, each of which has been carefully chosen by Harrods’ trained sommeliers to complement the lunch. In addition, guests will be able to partake in culinary discussions with the chefs through a Q&A sessions, taking place throughout the afternoon.
