“Emotions don’t lie!” is apt for chef Beck, whereby emotions are his cuisine’s ingredients and his personal nature. The chef is extremely honoured and pleased with this precious recognition. He especially gave thanks to all his collaborators, including his young kitchen brigade, his assistants and every single person who helps him every day. Chef Beck claims that without these people this great recognition, together with his three Michelin stars and three forks of Gambero Rosso, would never have been achieved.
Mr. Paolo Marchi, the founder ofIdentità Golose, the International Congress of Gastronomy,and Mr. Casimiro Maule, from the wine company Nino Negri of Chiuro in Valtellina, explained why Heinz Beckwas awarded this prize:
‘We thought to award Heinz Beck this prize because, even though he has been adopted as Italian, he has brought the excellence of ingredients, flavours and dishes that are “Made in Italy” over the geographical borders. Moreover, Beck has always shown a true interest in the developments of cuisine within the health and wellness ambit, with his unique far-sightedness.’
The chef was awarded the recognition because his dishes are not only distinguished by their exquisite taste, but also their health consciousness. His restaurant, La Pergola makes for a unique and unforgettable experience.
