The Grand Gelinaz! Shuffle

The Grand Gelinaz! Shuffle is the most exciting gastronomic extravaganza of the year. It will see 37 of the best chefs in the world swapping their kitchens, lives and cuisines with one another on a global scale. Swaps will me made from Japan to Chile, from Brazil to Slovenia, France, Turkey, Sweden, Thailand, Australia, UK, Italy, Peru, Spain, Canada, Belgium, Denmark and the USA.

The creative team behind the event is Andrea Petrini and Alexandra Swenden. As a an artistic advisor and co-founder of the original Cook It Raw, as well as being chairman of the World’s 50 Best Restaurant awards, Petrini is no stranger to fine quality food and how to host an impressiveculinaryevent. Accompanied by the talents of Alexandra, an executive film producer and artistic concept consultant, the event is set to rival all other gastronomic events.

The name itself is suggestive of the sheer feat of the activity that will be taking place in the build up to tonight’s global feast.

Gelinaz! Is a collective of international chefs

Every time pushing the bounderies, performing food and taking risk as a starting point

Longing to dicover new cultures and exchange knowledge

Inventing collaborations with artists, musicians, scientists, thinkers and producers

Never willing to repeat itself, always exploring the unknown

Adapting to uncertain situations, charting new territories to sharpen creativity

Zooming on the beauty of nature, its elegant chaos and unending recreation

The logistics of the event have seen 37 big name chefs ranging from Bottura, Redzepi, Atala, Aduriz, Aizpitarte, Ducasse, Brock, Narisawa, Shewry, Kinch, Ros, Camanini, Grebaut, Saint-Pierre, Gürs, Wetzel, Crenn take part in a location lottery where their chosen destination was picked at random. They then transport their lives, kitchens, skills and creativity to deliver an 8-course menu in their fellow chef’s restaurant.

At this point the chefs will have landed in their new surroundings and will be being de-briefed by the staff of the acquired kitchen. For the past three days they will have been busily getting used to their new humble abodes, whilst preparing for the big night tonight where they will showcase their unique tasting menu’s.

This exciting and action packed few days will give chefs the chance to push their own boundaries, allowing a new form of creativity to arise from the chaos of change and upheaval from their previous comfort zones.As an event that is open to the public, the offerings of this experience will be available tonight in one of 37 dinners that will be taking place across the globe.
