Only a few days in and the new restaurant from the creative forces behind Ushuaïa and Blue Marlin Ibiza, is already proving to be a roaring success and advocate to some of the finest Spanish cuisine in the world
Tatel

The brainchild of Abel Matutes Jr. and Manuel Campos and with three Spanish icons including Enrique Iglesias, Rafa Nadal and Pau Gasol acting as Ambassadors, Tatel, is a gastronomic project that aims to celebrate all things Spanish and take this concept to international heights. Using traditional Spanish dishes and updating them by adding a modern twist, Tatel’s ambition is to become a cultural icon of Iberian fine cuisine.

With chefs, Nino Redruello and Patxi Zumárraga manning the helm, Tatel has created signature dishes that allow Spanish cuisine to take centre stage whilst also representing both brands, Ushuaïa and Blue Marlin Ibiza, who are synonymous with innovation and tradition.

The chefs have been entrusted with the role of maintaining the formula of quality and entertainment that they know so well, having the combined experience of working in kitchens such as El Bulli, Zuberoa, Akelarre, and NOBU.Working in these kitchens has helped to instil an ethos that includes; strict rules being replaced by forward thinking creativity, and allowing their extensive Spanish larder to speak for itself.

Using the essence of traditional recipes that are best associated with our grandparents; the chefs have managed to turn these classics into brand new taste sensations.Dishes include filleted anchovies which have been fried inside out in garlic and then given the final touches at the table for guests to witness, as well as what Redruello considers his “pièce de résistance”, the truffle tortilla, a recipe that most resembles a creamy ravioli infused with potato froth.

The venue itself also oozes cool, with it’s twenties style décor, a prohibition theme that creates a casual and relaxed atmosphere and a full programme of live entertainment organised by Abel Matutes Jr. and Manuel Campos, it is no wonder that Ushuaïa and Blue Marlin Ibiza, are regarded respectively as the best open-air club and best beach club in the world.
