On the Pers glacier with three-star chef Daniel Humm

For the festive season, the organizers of the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival have surprised everyone with the announcement of an exceptional special event that enhances the already attractive program starting in the last week in January. On Tuesday 31st January 2017, for the first time in the festival’s history, about 20 gourmet fans will take off on board a PC-6 plane for the Pers glacier, flying to an altitude of 3,000m. This is where Daniel Humm will serve them culinary delicacies from his three-star restaurant Eleven Madison Park in New York. Furthermore, the Swiss native international celebrity star chef will offer on Thursday, 2nd February 2017, as part of a public charity event, his famous “Humm Dogs” on Corviglia, the local St. Moritz mountain.

Daniel Humm and the organizers of the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival, which has enjoyed cult status for more than two decades, continuously strive to offer superlative delights for all the senses. Best conditions for this unique special event during the upcoming festival week. In commemoration of the historical flights of Swiss aviation pioneer Walter Mittelholzer 85 years ago, an MC-6 plane will take off on Tuesday 31st January 2017, from the frozen lake of St. Moritz, taking 20 festival guests in all, in small groups, for a magnificent flight over the snow- covered Engadine mountain scenery, taking them in twelve minutes to the Pers glacier.

Against the magnificent panorama of the Bernina Alps at an altitude of 3,000m, the international celebrity star chef Daniel Humm will serve select delicacies from his three-star gourmet temple Eleven Madison Park in New York. There will be dishes such as scallop variations with caviar and apple or oxtail braised in red wine with black truffles and chestnuts, as well as a “baked Alaska” dessert.

“Humm Dogs” on Corviglia – a public charity event

Moreover, also within the scope of the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival, Daniel Humm will initiate a personal charity event, a further hallmark of the exceptional top master chef. On Thursday 2nd February 2017, all gourmet fans, skiers and families with children on the ski slopes, can savor at Mathis Food Affairs on Corviglia, at an altitude of 2,486m, his famous “Humm Dogs”, a delicious version of hotdogs. The sales proceeds will be donated entirely to the “Fonds Peter Gabriel” Foundation in Samedan.
