Angela Hartnett’s London-based Michelin star restaurant Murano has appointed Pip Lacey as its new Head Chef…

Yesterday, Pip Laceywas appointednew Head Chef at Michelin-starred Murano, replacing Diego Cardoso who will leave later this month. As the current Senior Sous Chef at Murano,Pip has been part of the team since June 2011. Her previous experience took her through two of’s restaurants at York and Albany. Chef Hartnett said:

“Pip is an extremely gifted chef, who will continue to maintain the high standards I set for Murano. I wish Diego all the best. In the ten years I have worked with him, he has grown to become an incredible talent who is now more than ready to take the next step in his career.”

Also joiningthe Murano team as General Manager, SaraKent has been appointed General Manager, having lefther previous role as Hospitality manager for Whitechapel Gallery. Having announced the news, said:

“I’m particularly pleased to be able to manage the developments for Murano from within, and excited by the prospect of working with this dynamic new team to advance the restaurant in the coming months and years.”

Murano, the Michelin-starred Mayfair restaurant run by Chef Proprietor, , opened in August 2008. Originally a joint venture with Gordon Ramsay, the restaurant opened to critical acclaim and Angela took over sole ownership in 2010. The menu is modern with an Italian accent, reflecting Angela’s family roots, and dishes change along with the seasons. Diners can opt for a set lunch menu or flexible A la carte, with the option of wines carefully selected by Head Sommelier, Matteo Ramazzina. Murano has a refined interior with striking glass panelling,crisp linens and warm leather surrounded by frescoed walls.
