New Nordic for London

New York Nordic restaurant, Aquavit is to open in London at the end of the year. The contemporary Nordic restaurant will open in the new St James’s Market development. The menu will be overseen by , executive chef of the two Michelin-starred Aquavit New York, and Henrik Ritzen will be head chef.

Chef Bengtsson grew up in a small town on the west coast of Sweden and became interested in the culinary arts at a very young age, thanks to her grandmother, who was an avid home cook. The baking and cooking of Bengtsson’s youth grew into professional aspirations when she enrolled in Stockholm’s Hotel and Restaurant School, where she trained in every restaurant role, from savory and pastry to waiting tables and hostessing.

The new restaurant from two Michelin-starredAquavit, will be the first outpost outside it’s New York home. Thenew restaurant will be offering a more informal and contemporary Nordic cuisine for all-day dining. The menu will be overseen by Chef Bengtsson, and it will offer distinctly Nordic flavours. The food will be light and modern with a focus on high quality presentation, matched with the very best in modern Scandinavian design, with interiors being organised by Martin Brudnizki.
