With more restaurants gaining one and two stars, Italy also retains their its eight three-starred establishments, with this year’s limelight on Lombardy.

The Michelin Guide for Italy 2017has been released with the country boasting five new two-starred restaurants.The three star category remained unchanged with Italy’s eight three-star restaurants all retaining their place.

In the one-star category there were a total of 27 new entries with the country now boasting an impressive total of 343 stars in total.

This breaks down as follows: 294 one-star restaurants, 41 two-star restaurants and 8 three-star restaurants.
