His work both as an innovator and restaurateur confirm him as one of the world’s most creative culinary forces. He owns two restaurants in his hometown of Modena, in the culinary-rich region of Emilia-Romagna,the 3 Michelin star Osteria Francescanaand offshoot brasserie Franceschetta58.Opened in 1995, Osteria Francescana has held 3 Michelin stars since 2011.ChefBottura’s first restaurant outside of Italy, Ristorante Italia diMassimoBotturaopened in May 2014 in Istanbul. The restaurant takes inspiration from Osteria Francescana but is an entirely unique proposition. His cuisine is full of compelling contradictions: it is both traditional and conceptual; it is deceivingly minimalist in its presentation and yet full of complex flavours, textures and cultural references to art, literature and history.Massimo Botturacreates real works of art through his food.
