Rumours have been confirmed that this autumn, Los Gatos in North California, will become home to a new casual bar and eatery with authentic New Orleans-inspiredcuisine, The Bywater.

The team behind the new venture, David Kinch, of two Michelin star Manresa and partner Andrew Burnham have announced that, The Bywater, will take residence only a few minutes from his famedLos Gatos restaurant, and will offer a taste of his home-town roots.

The restaurant takes its name from The Bywater neighbourhood of New Orleans where Chef Kinch grew up, and will therefore pay homage to flavours that inspired his culinary journey.

“The Bywater is the kind of place where I would want to go after work or hang out on my day off,” says Kinch. “It’s casual, eclectic, and brings a bit of the food, drink, and atmosphere of New Orleans to this part of Northern California – music and all.”

Maintaining the same high standards he is known for when it comes to ingredients, execution and creativity, the Bywater menu showcases classic French and New Orleans-inspired dishes. There will also be classic southern staples including fried green tomatoes, gumbo and po’boys, but using choice ingredients local to the Northern California region. The eatery will also feature a seafood bar that offers a selection of fresh oysters, clams, and crabs.

With a relaxed atmosphere, a creative bar team with an authentic drinks menu full of spirits such as American Whiskey, Bourbon, and Rye, high quality classic dishes and music from classic jazz musicians and brass bands, this is set to be truly authentic New Orleans hang out, in the heart of California.
