Gusto by Heinz Beck, the outstanding signature restaurant at Conrad Algarve, is excited to announce it has been awarded a Michelin Star at the prestigious 2018 Michelin Star gastronomic guide in Spain and Portugal. The winners were announced in Tenerife at the Ritz Carlton Abama Hotel, where the awards ceremony took place. Since opening, the five-star Conrad Algarve in Quinta Do Lago, has continued to exceed expectations with its stunning culinary offerings, which have now been officially recognised by one of the most coveted guides in the global food scene.
Daniele Pirillo, who perfected his cooking techniques under renowned Chef Heinz Beck at the La Pergola restaurant (three Michelin stars) in Rome, arrived at Gusto in Conrad Algarve in 2014 as a resident chef. “It is with great joy that I have received the first star for Gusto. This is a very special moment for the whole team, we could not be happier. This accomplishment reflects our dedication and passion for gastronomy and, of course, will to always achieve more” commented Pirillo.
Of the announcement, General Manager of Conrad Algarve, Katharina Schlaipfer commented, “The achievement of this Michelin star reflects the exceptional work that has been consistently developed by the entire Gusto team. It is a fantastic team, dynamic and very dedicated. They have all done a great job!”
Heinz Beck, known as one of the undisputed “masters” of gastronomy, has been the consultant chef at the Gusto restaurant since its opening in 2012. The team combine the best local and international ingredients and innovative flavours with a Mediterranean influence, all served up in the stylish and contemporary setting of Gusto.
Now in its sixth year, Gusto continues to be a destination restaurant not only for hotel guests, but for Portuguese locals and those celebrating special occasions from all over the world.
