This October will see the landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong celebrate its tenth anniversary and as a way of marking the occasion, its Amber restaurant are hosting an exclusive, ‘Friends of Amber’ series.
Taking place over 23rd and 24th October, the two-night dinner will feature world-renowned king of molecular gastronomy, .
With a specially designed 12-course menu he will showcase some of the creative cooking that originated in the kitchen’s of elBulli, which then went on to influence a whole generation of creative cooks the world over, including those of Amber itself.
With two Michelin star executive chef manning the helm of the soiree, guests will be invited to sample the tasting menu, which comes with champagne and drinks pairings, as well as taking part in an intimate Q&A session with Ferran, where he will be explaining his culinary vision and pioneering gastronomic techniques.
As a nod to the fact that Adrià’s seven-volume ‘elBulli 2005-2011’ catalogue is also released this year, each guest will receive signed copies of the original elBulli menu and the elBulli book set, as well as a photo-op with the chef himself.
The evenings are an incredible one–off opportunity to get up close and personal with a chef who has changed the face of fine dining and all for the bargain price of HK$10,888 plus a 10 per cent service charge.
