London design festival 2015

In particular we will have our eyes on East London during this years design festival, as it has been announced that Lyle’s restaurant will team up with exclusive Crane Cookware and Very Good & Proper bespoke furniture.

For a few days only the award-winning restaurant will play host to a one-off installation where a few special diners will get the chance to sample a specially devised menu from Head Chef, James Lowe, set to the backdrop of contemporary design features.

Diners will be seated on specially selected chairs and a table designed and made by ‘Very Good & Proper’. Their modern and elegant tables and chairs feature linear designs, creating simplicity whilst simultaneously creating high visual impact, so completely in keeping with the contemporary and spacious feeling of Lyle’s. The crockery is supplied exclusively from Owen Wall and ceramicist Skye Corewijn and all food will be served and prepared using the Crane Cookware collection. The cast iron pans that feature in the range have been created by product designer, Barnaby Tuke together with food writer Charmain Ponnuthurai. The cookware is made from vitreous enameled sand-cast iron, and is produced by one of France’s longest-established foundries. The cookware has a modernist elegance with functionality at the core, whilst retaining a pared-back, timeless aesthetic that is suitable for all occasions.

The dinners will only be available from the 22nd to the 24th September, so make sure you reserve your space at the most exclusive table at the heart of the festival.
