Three Michelin star chef Daniel Boulud of Daniel, New York, is honored with The Diners Club® lifetime achievement award as it celebrates its 10th anniversary year.

A prestigious award for a prestigious chef and to top off the celebrations, this year marks the 10th anniversary of an award that celebrates the extraordinary achievements of chefs from around the globe. The Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award is voted for by almost 1,000 international restaurant industry experts and well-travelled gourmets and is showcased during the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.

This year we see the achievements of Daniel Boulud being the focus of this celebration, who will join The Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award hall of fame along with other renowned talent such as; France’s Paul Bocuse, Alain Ducasse and Jöel Robuchon and America’s Thomas Keller and Alice Waters.

Hailing from Lyon and earning his first professional recognition at 15 years of age as a finalist in France’s competition for Best Culinary Apprentice, chef Boulud then went on to train under renowned French chefs, Roger Vergé, Georges Blanc and Michel Guérard. Boulud made his reputation in New York, first as a chef and most recently a restaurateur. His restaurants includeDaniel,Café Boulud, DB Bistro Moderne, Bar Boulud, DBGB Kitchen & Bar, and Boulud Sud in New York City.

Daniel’s culinary style is firmly rooted in the classic French cuisine whilst also being conscious of modern taste experiences and elegant, seasonal presentation. The fact that he also has one of New York’s most impressive wine lists also complements his culinary repertoire. His restaurant boasts over 2000 international selections including rare Bordeaux and Burgundy, unique vertical vintages of Château Latour, Château Mouton Rotschild and Domaine de la Romanée Conti.
