The imminent inauguration of the new Artisan cocktail club, NEO, will make the ‘naughty little sister’ of Parisian bistro, Cocotte in Central, the new place for cocktail hour.
Artisan cocktails at NEO

On June 25th Hong Kong will welcome its newest watering hole in the form of artisan cocktail club NEO.From the founders of the Parisian bistro, Cocotte, the new concoctions on offer at NEO will make the Shin Hing steps a must when visiting the cool NoHo area of Hong Kong.

Like with most other sub districts within large cities, NoHo has grown in popularity and become the sassier version of the older stylish SoHo hangout. As the new pre-clubbing destination, NEO will fit in perfectly in this social hub with its stylish retro interiors, live nightly DJ sets in a custom made DJ booth and fashionable eats.

Those in the know will find that the venue itself is tucked into the Shin Hing steps, and behind the door guests are invited in to experience a world of creative mixology. The cocktail club is set to the backdrop of retro eloquence designed exclusively by Candace Campos of ID Design. Whilst paying homage to the Hong Kong’s long heritage of neon lights and colour, there is also a retro twist in its décor that strikes of eighties pop rock and geometric lines. All in all this is a well devised underground space that can host sought-after parties.

The artisan menu continues with this quirky and stylish theme by offering an artisan menu of drinks including

The House-smoked Yoghurt Sour, an unusual mix of pisco acholado, smoked yoghurt, citrus sugar, bitters and fresh egg white and The Express Polaroid, a feisty mix of ghee buttered dark rum, coffee liqueur, freshly made espresso and tonic reduction syrup.

Nearly all the liquors at NEO are sourced from independent brewers, thus allowing their artisanal and unique flavours to seep into the uniquely blended cocktails. Expect distinct flavours from individually selected liquors such as; pineapple infused Jamaican overproof rum, ginger honey water mescal and homemade cider vinegar syrup bitters that are sure to tease the palate

Speaking about their newest venture, Brice Moldovan Managing Director of Cocotte and NEO has said that,

“Seeing how happy guests are to step off the high-street and dine by the Shin Hing steps, where we have a chilled pace and party vibe, we thought it was the perfect venue for a cocktail club concept. Our customers like the off-the-beaten-track location”

So if you have grown tired of all the old haunts, give this sexy new NoHo bar a try!
