The last semi-finals of this year’s Chef of the Year competition is set to take place in Vienna, the so-called city of gastronomic revolution. On21-22 Juneat the EMS-Lounge, the last few entry tickets to the finals at Anuga in October will be awarded. One last time, ambitious chefs and pastry chefs will have the chance to get their place in the finals.

It’s not going to be an easy ride for the contestants in Vienna. There will be 13 teams, eight professional chefs and 5 pastry chefs vying for the finals and trying to convince the tasting jury with their unique creations. It promises to be five hours filled with adrenaline and heated moments.

Apart from the exciting live contest, guests can look forward to innovations and show programmes, such as iChefs and iPastry, with other well-known chefs who are set to give insights into their techniques and philosophies of modern gastronomy. The event will see appearances by chefs such as three-Michelin-star chef of La Vie, Thomas Bühner, Sebastian Frank of Michelin-starred restaurant Horvath in Berlin, or the former head chef of Ferran Adrià, Oriol Castro of restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona. There will also be plenty of Austrian chefs and pastry chefs. What a unique opportunity to see the future of international cuisine in the making.
