Julia Child is the original celebrity chef, famous for pioneering an entire genre of cooking shows and introducing French cuisine and cooking techniques to the American public.Her legendary cookbooks and television programs taught a generation of food lovers that cooking could be easy, enjoyable, and accessible to all.

Now with her French holiday home going up for sale, you can even get the chance to put her recipes to the test in her very own kitchen.

La Pitchoune, or “The Little Thing”, as it was nicknamed by Child’s and her husband Paul, is perched on a half acre of land on a hillside outside the small Provençal village of Plascassier, close to the picturesque towns of Grasse, Cannes and the Côte d’Azur.

Coming onto the market at €800,000 potential buyers have the chance to purchase themselves a piece of culinary history. The house comes adorned with all the remaining décor, including every kitchen tool imaginable. An expanse of knives, pots and pans adorn the walls within the custom-built kitchen, designed by Paul as a nod to their kitchen in Cambridge, which is now in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History.
