Armand de Brignac Champagne, better known as ‘Ace of Spades’ due to its distinctive large spade label on the bottle, haswelcomed its two new editions making a total of fivein the range.

The brand, which is owned by the Cattier family and has been making champagne from its vineyards between Reims and Epernay since 1918, was famously bought by rapper Jay Z last year after a falling out with rival brand, Cristal.

The rapper who fell out with Cristal’s Champagne house, Louis Roederer, due to its snobbish comments towards the Champagne’s popularity within the rap world, went on to purchase Armand de Brignac in November 2014.

Since then the brand has gone from strength to strength and the exclusive champagne, produced by 8 people in the tiny French village of Chigny-Les-Roses, has welcomed its latest expressions in the form of a Blanc de Noirs and aDemi Sec.

The ‘Ace of Spades’ Blanc de Noirs combines grapes from the Chigny-Les-Roses, Bouzy, Verzeney and Montagne de Reims vineyards to create a 100% Pinot Noir Champagne. Whilst the ‘Ace of Spades’ Demi Sec has been made using select Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from three highly acclaimed Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in the area. The two latest editions will be sold for £750 and £300 respectively.

The Champagne brand counts among its other accolades a score of 98 points from world-renowned wine critic José Peñín and a glowing review from UK critic Jancis Robinson. Armand de Brignac is currently available in more than 100 countries worldwide. The two new cult Champagnes have been released in the UK and will be available in various luxury department stores such as Harrods and Harvey Nichols, specialistwine shops and high-end nightclubs.
