After an extensive renovation the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam, has teamed up with award winning chef Jacob Jan Boerma to open a series of eateries within the hotel.
It will be the first Dutch hotel in the NH Hotel Group to join the upper-upscale NH Collection brand and will feature as one of the flagship hotels of the luxury chain.
Collaborating with Jacob, the man behind the restaurant, De Leest, one of only two restaurants in the Netherlands currently holding 3 Michelin stars, on the new restaurant concept in the Dutch capital seemed a natural choice according to Maarten Markus, Managing Director of NH Hotel Group Benelux, UK, France, USA & Africa, stating that;
“NH Collection has the ambition to offer its guests the best in hospitality, service and innovation, including on a culinary level. With Jacob Jan Boerma we can offer our guests the absolute top level of gastronomy. His creations suit the essence of NH Collection: offering an unsurpassed and memorable guest experience, encapsulated in our brand promise ‘feel the extraordinary’.”
Manning the helm of the proposed 60 seat restaurant, De Boerma with be in charge of menu creation for this restaurant, as well as several of the other gastronomic outlets that exist in the hotel, including the new Grand Café Krasnapolsky, which opens in July of this year.He is said to be delighted with the project at NH Krasnapolsky as
“It is a fantastic opportunity to start with NH Hotel Group in Amsterdam, especially in one of the most famous hotels in the city. I look forward to combining the history of the Krasnapolsky and my own style of cooking to present a new, exciting and contemporary culinary temple.” Boerma will not close down restaurant De Leest in Vaassen though: “In Vaassen we put in the fundamentals and it has taken us to where we are today. Without the success of restaurant De Leest this opportunity would not have presented itself. De Leest has been and will remain the nursery for all of the dishes that I will create for the menu in Amsterdam.”
