Taste of Melbourne in Partnership with Electrolux will be a feast for the senses with a bursting schedule of the coolest collaborations, luxest sensory experiences and most covetable cooking sessions with some of the biggest names in the Australian food scene.

Whether you are a foodie fanatic or simply seeking something different in the spring sunshine, here are Taste 2016’s most unmissable attractions over 10th-13th November:

Melbourne’s first-ever Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets is an intimate hands-on masterclass experience where guests can cook alongside Melbourne’s leading chefs as they prepare one of their signature dishes. Visitors will then enjoy the meal matched with a glass of Nepenthe wine in a beautiful kitchen and dining space.

In the Electrolux Taste Theatre, guests will learn the secrets to making gourmet every day at home, with live cooking demonstrations from gastronomic A-listers including Alejandro Saravia, Guy Grossi and Joanne Ward, to name a few.

Back by popular demand, the Lurpak Cookery School will butter up visitors with 30-minute masterclasses, led by Masterchef favourite Sara Oteri. Learn from the best on how to master creative and moreish dishes, all of which can be devoured upon completion.

Debunk common wine myths, discover harmonious food and wine pairings and savour free tastings with The Wine Society Education Workshops led by Ben Knight; the certified sommelier who wants to unleash your inner wine buff!

It’s set to be hop heaven with an array of bars giving a taste of best beers from around the world. Step into a bubble of oriental heaven with a new collaboration from Asahi X Supernormal, which unites the bold and beautiful flavours of Nippon. Estrella Damm Taste Bar steers tastebuds to the Mediterranean, paired with morsels of beef tartare from Cumulus Inc. Be transported to South Asia at the Taste of India with Kingfisher Bar by the colourful décor and Dhol Drum beats, and stay for the refreshing, first class beer.

What is a day out without the music to match? The Nepenthe Wines’ Music Hub is hosting hot local acts, including: Motown beats from That Gold Street Sound, Jazz tunes from Orlando Combo and a smorgasbord of Triple J Unearthed alumni including the indie Alice Skye, folk tunes from Charm of Finches, rock and roots from Jim Lawrie and more. For those captivated by the live playlist, or simply content with sprawling on the lawns for an incognito picnic, Deliveroo’s ROO Service lets guests soak in the Festival without moving a muscle, as the ROO crew hand-deliver orders from a selection of Taste restaurants.

For those who enjoy the finer things in life, fast-tracked entry, free flowing drinks including delicious drops from Taste’s Official Wine Partner Nepenthe Wines, complimentary cheese and wine pairing sessions, a dedicated bar, VIP amenities and unlimited access to the Platinum Lounge, the Platinum Lounge pass is a must.

Milk the Cow Cheese and Wine Matching is an essential pit stop for fromage fanatics keen to master the art of matching fragrant wines to full-flavoured cheeses. It’s power to the people at the new Black Swan Beta laboratory and revolving conveyor bar, where guests can create their own dip and yoghurt. Exclusive to Taste, even indulge in the most expensive and decadent dip ever created by Black Swan’s experimental resident chef.

Taste’s take on million-dollar mustard is set to be a crowd-pleaser with a one-of-a-kind Haute-Dog at La Maison Maille, which will be accompanied by Maille’s signature black truffle infused French mustard, which retails for $100 a jar.

The pear-fect quencher for a sunny spring day and making their event debut, official cider partner Cider Lab will have a jostling cart of fresh, tangy varietal ciders inspired by Australian favourites such as Pink Lady and Packham Pear.

The enviable line-up of Taste restaurants has been released (with more to be announced soon): Estelle Bistro, Pickett’s Deli and Rotisserie, Supernormal, Cumulus Inc.,Mamasita x Hotel Jesus, MoVida, Circa, The Prince, and The RoyalMail Hotel will each specially design festival menus for the four days that can only be experienced at Taste. All venues will put forward a signature dish to a select panel of judges, as they vie for the coveted Best in Taste title, announced on the opening night, Thursday 10 November.
