This week some ofthe world’sbestchefs will visitNorthern Thailand,as part of50BestExplores, to uncover the gastronomic riches and traditions of Thailand’s world famous cuisine.Travelling to the King of Thailand’s rural and agricultural initiative,The Royal Project,areJoan Roca, Chef-owner ofEl Celler de Can Rocain Girona, No.1 in The World’s50BestRestaurants list;Ashley Palmer-Watts, Executive Chef ofDinner by Heston Blumenthalin London, No.7 on the list; andPeter Gilmore, Chef-owner ofQuayin Sydney, No.58 in the world ranking.

Accompanied by leading chefs from ThailandChef Bongkoch ‘Bee’ SatongunofPaste Gaysorn, Bangkok,Chef Nan BunyasaranandofLittle Beast,Bangkok,Chef Chumpol Jangprai,Iron Chef of Thailand,andChef Nooror Somany SteppeofThe Blue Elephant, the world’sbestchefs can learn,exploreand experiment with local produce, as well as meet local producers, farmers and growers.

While immersing themselves in the local culture, chefs will interact with key players in that region’s food, market or restaurant industry and share their experiences with the wider world. This first edition focuses on Thailand, but stay tuned for future destinationslater in 2016/17.
