With Mother’s Day (Sunday 31st March) fast approaching, here’s our pick of London’s FOUR most gourmand ways to spoil her rotten.

1 Best for fine dining fanatics: Alyn Williams at The Westbury
If she’s a gourmand, you can’t go wrong with a meal at Alyn Williams at The Westbury. Enjoy a 3-course menu, featuring starters of Orkney scallop, white asparagus, yuzu, morels and seaweed and Roasted quail, borlotti bean ragu and crispy ham hock.

Choose from Skate wing meuniere, broccoli, Brazil nuts, brown shrimps and Chateaubriand with smoked bone marrow and Pommes Anna for mains, before finding room for the likes of irresistible Salted caramel tart with baked apple ice cream.

2 Best for seafood fans: Angler
If she’s angling for a plate of delicious seafood, book a spot at Angler for Michelin-starred seafood courtesy of Executive Chef Gary Foulkes.

This Mother’s Day, Foulkes has created a unique menu filled with three heavenly courses. Starters feature Cured monkfish, taramasalata, blood orange, Greek basil and main courses including Confit smoked salmon, mussels, apple and wild garlic.

To finish, the Gariguette strawberry cheesecake with white basil ice cream, Brillat-Savarin and black olive is a must-bite.

3 Best for a blowout: Gymkhana
To celebrate the special occasion, Gymkhana will be opening on a Sunday for the first time ever. The restaurant’s iconic à la carte menu comprised of signature nashta, kebabs, tikkas, chops, curries and biryanis will be accompanied by a special roast offering; Phagwara Tandoori Kuddad (£38 for two), served with Lasooni Nettle Saag, Heritage Carrot & Roscoff Onion Pickle and Masala Roti.

Guests can pair their meal with a refreshing cocktail from the restaurant’s upcoming new menu inspired by the majestic scents of luxury British perfume house, Penhaligon’s.

Adding to the special occasion, all mothers dining in the restaurant that Sunday will receive a small gift of either a Penhaligon’s Vaara fragrance or candle.

4 Best for the masterchefs: Kahani
If she’s a masterchef in the making, Michelin-starred chef Peter Joseph’s upcoming masterclass makes the perfect gourmet outing. Peter will share the cooking skills taught to him by his mother with two culinary Mother’s Day Masterclasses at his debut restaurant Kahani.

Just 20 lucky people will have the opportunity to join the respected chef, who is quickly gaining a reputation within the culinary world for his game-changing approach to Indian cuisine.

Guests will learn how to prepare a selection of dishes from the three-course menu including masala grilled avocado,  sumptuous robata grilled sea bass and fluffy mushroom naan.

Visitors will also eat the prepared dishes and have the opportunity to bring along friends and family to join the meal.
