Joël Robuchon will be extending his collection of restaurants with the news he will be opening his eighth L’Atelier at a new hotel in India. The hotel group GHM are opening a luxury hotel in Mumbai and they will be cutting the tape by the end of next year.

The Aayu Mumbai will be located in the Kohinoor Square Tower and will occupy five floors of the city’s tallest building. The hotel will be steeped in luxury and as well as designer rooms it will also have a swimming pool, a courtyard, a cigar and cognac lounge, and many other high-end features. French chef Robuchon will be opening one of two restaurants on the site, the other; a Japanese restaurant headed by Hide Yamamoto.

This will be Robuchon’s first restaurant in India and adds to his already glowing list of luxury destinations. His other restaurants currently reside in Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London, Monaco, Macau, Paris, Singapore, Taipei, and Tokyo.
