Michelin star chef David Chang is to feature on hip hop group Deltron 3030’s new album Event II

Heston has his sunglasses, Ramsay had his football and now David Chang has hip hop. Keen to expand his already superlative CV, the Michelin star chef has turned his hand to a new trade.

Chang, chef and co-founder of the Momofuku restaurant group, has collaborated with hip hop group Deltron 3030 on their much anticipated new album Event II. The song on which Chang features is aptly titledThe Future of Food, although it is not yet apparent what form Chang’s contribution will take. Here’s hoping he’ll rap a recipe.

Chang is no stranger to popular culture; he owns quarterly magazineLucky Peach. This is not even his first collaboration with Deltron. Back in 2010, Chang released a beer-and-vinyl-boxset with the group, which included a vinyl of their music, six bottles of beer, and a selection of Chang’s recipes.

The chef will appear alongside an eclectic range of fellow collaborators including Zack Del La Rocha from Rage Against the Machine and Hollywood actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The album will be released on 1 October.
