Swiss chef and co-owner of restaurants Eleven Madison Park, NoMad New York, NoMad Los Angeles and Made Nice, Daniel Humm knows a thing or two about quality ingredients, seasonal flavors and a great ambience. Join us as he takes us on a tour of his favourite Aspen haunts this winter.

Meat & Cheese

Meat & Cheese is a wonderful spot for any time of day and I often stop by for a casual bite, or for a full meal. They have a great little marketplace with lots of amazing ingredients as well – I love their cheeses and condiments.”

Matsuhisa

Matsuhisa is one of the oldest restaurants in Aspen, and it is easy to see why. It’s a real classic, with delicious food and amazing service.”

Clark’s

Clark’s is one of the newer spots in Aspen and it is my favorite place to go for seafood. They have an amazing wide variety of oysters, simply and beautifully prepared seafood and a bright, sunny vibe, which is perfect for the season.”

Ajax

“I love going to Ajax after hitting the mountain, whether it’s for a quick bite, a glass of wine or a full dinner. Their burger is my also my favorite in the whole of Aspen!”

Paradise Bakery

Paradise is a quaint little bakery that is always crowded and for good reason! They have so many delicious pastries; muffins, breakfast items, cookies and more. I love taking my daughters here when they come to visit.”

EMP Winter House

I know that this is our own popup, but I am so proud of the team who put it together that I have to recommend it! I am especially proud of the fondue experience in Yurt Village, because it brings back so many memories of sharing that dish with friends and family when I was growing up in Switzerland.”

Jimmy’s

“Known as an ‘Aspen Institution’ since opening 1997, Jimmy’s offers American cuisine, carefully curated wines and globally-inspired cocktails. Almost nothing has changed since it opened and it still remains one of the best spots in Aspen for a well-made cocktail and friendly service.”

Element 47

“If I am going for a drink, then I love Element 47 for its wine list. So many top somm eliers have worked at this restaurant and I am always impressed by their knowledge and their selections.”

Hotel Jerome Living Room

I like to come to Hotel Jerome Living Room in the morning or the afternoon for a coffee or tea, to relax in the oversized chairs and enjoy a quiet moment before my day begins. It’s the perfect home away from home when you fancy an escape.”
