On March 10 2013, chef Magnus Nilsson will be joining two other visionary minds of the culinary world, Matthew Evans and Michael Städtlander, to discuss and explore matters of food morality at the Theatre of Ideas event at Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in Melbourne, Australia. The event aims to bring together the world’s most forward-thinkers to reveal the big concepts and small inspirations behind their approach to growing, cooking and eating from the earth.
All living off their farms, Matthew, Magnus and Michael will bring the knowledge and experience from their kitchens and gardens to the stage to tackle the question: how are we going to feed ourselves in the decades to come? Should we have a license to eat meat? And why is the chef/farmer relationship so important?
Focussing on food traditions and sustainability, each presenter will give their own take on preserving the earth and its produce.
Chef Magnus Nilsson, recently appeared in FOUR magazine’s Winter International Edition 2012/13 for his remote and alluring restaurant, Fäviken, in Sweden which has been causing a stir in the culinary world of late. Chef Nilsson told us: ‘I like to cook the produce in the simplest possible way and present it in an even simpler way, so that nothing overshadows this perfect product you had in the beginning’ – demonstrating his real passion and respect for the earths bounty.
