Award-winning female Chef of Michelin-starred Tate Dining Room in Hong Kong, Vicky Lau, is hosting a set of Women’s Day foodie festivities to raise funds for The Women’s Foundation.

With International Women’s Day just around the corner, one of Hong Kong’s leading female Chefs, Vicky Lau of 1-Michelin-starred TATE Dining Room and winner of Asia’s Best Female Chef of 2015 at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards will be hosting a set of exciting culinary events on Friday 8th March 2019. The proceeds  of the events will be donated to The Women’s Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong through groundbreaking research, impactful community programs and education and advocacy of the empowerment of the female voice.

Originally a graphic designer, the now chef uses her talent for visual artistry to showcase her innovative cuisine in the most beautiful way. The undisputed queen of French-Chinese fine dining in Hong Kong, Chef Vicky Lau’s innate creativity is evident in the seasonally-evolving tasting menu of “Edible Stories” at TATE Dining Room. Each course of Vicky’s menu is designed to evoke emotions and stir the imagination with an intriguing play on flavours and textures. Chef Vicky Lau’s culinary skill and artistic talent earned TATE Dining Room its first Michelin Star in 2013, and the establishment has successfully maintained this star every year thereafter. In 2017, TATE Dining Room relocated to a more versatile reincarnation on Hollywood Road, which also houses Chef Lau’s new dessert venture on the ground floor, Poem Patisserie.

“In such a competitive field as F&B, it’s important for us women to encourage each other to break barriers. I owe a lot of my achievements today to the strong and powerful women I have been inspired by in the past. Similarly, I hope to be able to empower aspiring female chefs.” – Vicky Lau, Chef-Founder of TATE Dining Room.

On Friday 8 March, Chef Vicky Lau will host both a private charity cooking class as well as a special cocktail-pairing dinner.
