The Abama Kabuki in Tenerife has been awarded a Michelin star on the basis of its quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of its food.

The restaurant is part of the luxury Abama Golf & Spa Resort, which already has a Michelin star restaurant in the form of Martin Berasateguis’ M.B. restaurant.

Head chef Daniel Franco, 28, has led the Japanese restaurant to Michelin status and the menu includes local produce like the bluefish as well as using great Japanese ingredients like Wagyu Kobe beef. Abama Kabuki serves classic Japanese dishes like sushi, sashimi, and tempura plates.

Spanish chef Ricardo Sanz is the founder of the Canary Island restaurant and his Kabuki, and Kabuki Wellington restaurants in Madrid are highly regarded Japanese fusion restaurants. Both restaurants hold a Michelin star.
