Gather epicureans and equestrians! The upcoming Aachen Gourmet is a 10 day festival that combines both in the finest style…

Every year, the Aachen Gourmet event attracts over 350,000 visitors and turns Aachen into a real place to be during 10 days. It is thus not surprising that Aachen should be called the “Mecca for horses” as well as the “Wimbledon of equestrian sports”. This year will be the first to combine the popular event of world class equestrian sports with exciting gastronomy. The most renowned equestrians pilgrimage to Aachen to compete in five disciplines: Show jumping, dressage, vaulting, eventing and combined driving. As part of the event, renowned prizes such as the Rolex Grand Prix are awarded.

The Food Mile

Not only does the event provide for sports fans, but also for gourmets. Germany’s best chefs and gastronomes are expected at the Aachen Gourmet event. The food mile will provide present visitors with high quality international cuisine fused with local influences. Each restaurant will present three to four highlights. The dishes are served in taster sizes, so visitors can enjoy a variety of food. The chefs include Johann Lafer who will present visitors with highlights from his restaurants, Otto Gourmet who will be responsible for meat specialities, Rainer Hensen who will refresh us with organic food and Christof Lang, a starred chef who will delight visitors with currywurst and chips- a culinary feast is guaranteed!

The event will take place from Friday, 29th to Sunday, 31st May 2015 in Aachen, Germany.

Tickets for the sports event are available on www.eventimsports.de from €13,20 (day passes) or €37,40 (Saturday and Sunday) and free entrance on Friday!
