One Michelin star restaurant, Gold by Harlan Goldstein, in Hong Kong, has introduced an eight-course gastronomic tasting menu for eight people, featuring luxury ingredients and gourmet dishes, accompanied by eight wines. The “8” Harlan Goldstein dinner will take place in Gold’s exclusive private room – allowing one party of eight per evening, the opportunity to sample the seasonal menu.The current menu begins with a tantalising warm potato chive blini, Iranian caviar, lemon crème fraîche, that will be paired withSalon, Blanc de Blanc 1990; and theBrittany blue lobster carpaccio, smoked salmon roe, blood orange, organic beetroot and pistachio, with theDomaine Jacques Prier, Montrachet 2009.

“The number eight represents fortune, so I wanted to create a unique menu that celebrated this auspicious number, while showcasing Gold’s Michelin-starred cuisine and fantastic wines, that are also personal favourites,” says Harlan Goldstein.
The menu continues with the48-months aged Iberico 5J ham, taleggio fritters and apricot jellyserved withHenri Jayer, Vosne-Romanee 1988. The indulgent menu continues withJapanese abalone and foie gras tart, crispy oyster veal glazedwith a glass ofLeoville Las Cases, Pauillac 1982, followed by thetagliolini pasta, Italian testa and Winter black truffles,paired with theChateau Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac 1996.

Sardinian suckling pig slow-cooked in mirto leaves, daikon, sauerkraut and “3” mustard sauceserved withVega-Sicilia, Unico 1990 follows, with a final savoury course of80-day aged Spanish Wagyu beef, porcini mushroom custard and French black winter trufflespaired withDal Forno Romano, Armarone della Valpolicella 1998.
