A taste of Armani

Innovative and elegant, contemporary and essential, FOUR looks at how the starred Armani/Ristorante combines the excellence of the Italian taste with diversions into world cuisines.
Contemporary essentiality

Situated in via Manzoni 31, in the heart of the fashion district, between Piazza della Scala and Piazza Cavour, the Armani/Ristorante is located on the seventh floor of the Armani Hotel in Milan. The rationalist building, originally designed by Enrico A. Griffini in 1937, has undergone extensive internal restructuring, which has endowed it with the refined aesthetic of the Armani style.

Sharp and clean lines, natural colours with shades of gray and sand, and a magnificent panoramic view of the skyline of Milan from the Duomo Cathedral to the futuristic skyscrapers in Porta Nuova – these are the unmistakable features that characterize the space of the Armani/ Ristorante.

An exclusive wine bar, a private dining room and the Armani/Bamboo Bar complete the ambience – an elegant setting with a high visual impact, overlooking via Manzoni and Piazza Croce Rossa, made unique by the double height ceiling (6 and a half metres) and by the immense windows equipped with louvres.

Backlit onyx elements, furniture and gentle background music create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a casual lunch or an aperitif before dinner, not to mention the cocktail parties and after dinner live music entertainment. An internal connecting bridge has been designated as smoking area.

The new philosophy: perfection of the fifth taste

Culinary experimentation and a constant search for perfection lay at the basis of the Armani/ Ristorante cuisine.

In addition to sweet and salty, sour and bitter – the four traditional tastes – the Armani/Ristorante adds a new, fifth one: Umami, a word that in the Japanese language means „flavorful‟. Attention to detail, accurate balance, harmony of combinations, careful selection of raw materials and ingredients, together with chromatic dishes, are the distinguishing elements of Umami and those identifying the gastronomic evolution of the Armani/ Ristorante.

The Armani/ Ristorante cuisine harmoniously combines technique, style and tasting experience. The dishes are light and contemporary; they are able to surprise while retaining a discreet elegance.

The menu: measured in every detail

The menu proposed by the Armani/Ristorante is measured in every detail, never excessive, reflecting Giorgio Armani‟s philosophy. Both dinner and business lunch menus are in constant evolution, as is the study of the fifth taste.

New menu variations are also offered during the Sunday brunch, which can be enjoyed in the Armani/Ristorante and in the Armani/Bamboo Bar, where you can find thematic food corners, as well as light or vegetarian options.

The winery: a selection of labels in pure Armani style

The Armani/Ristorante features an extensive and original wine list, designed to best accompany any tasting experience. At the heart of the selection, of course, there is the best of the Made in Italy brand: full-bodied, intense and balanced wines representing the many facets of our country, from north to south.

The most prestigious French wines as Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux, are present in special years and formats. In the thorough “wines from the world” selection, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, United States, Australia and New Zealand stand out. To compete the offer, biological and biodynamic, unusual and sophisticated wines are on the list, together with some precious vertical selections of Italian and foreign “historic years”, with well structured whites and reds.

A continuously evolving list, which harmoniously accompanies the Armani/Ristorante’s tasting experience.
