Calling all of those who become chefs in their kitchens. Gaggenau gives you professional technology with freedom of space for the private kitchen with their new ventilation 400 series…

Are you a chefin your own kitchen? Go no further: Gaggenau brings professional technology to the private kitchen with its new island and wall-mounted hood AI/AW 442. Minimalist in design, the model reduces cooking vapours and odours quietly and highly efficiently. The high performance of the new product is ensured by slanted baffle filters with grease absorption level of around 90 percent and a large collection area for vapours. Another new feature is a warm white surface LED light that can be dimmed as you like. This addition marks the company’s consolidation of the ventilation 400 series, a modular system in classic Gaggenau design, whose ample planning flexibility generates maximum space. The island and wall-mounted hood AI/AW 442 will be available from October 2014.

As Sven Schnee, Global Head of Brand Gaggenau, explains: “Innovative kitchen design constantly calls for new and individual ventilation solutions and we continuously extend our range to satisfy ever-growing demand.” So in 2013 alongside the baking, cooking and refrigeration sectors, the 400 and 200 series concept was also introduced for ventilation appliances. The island and wall-mounted hood AI/AW 442 complements the 400 series, which includes the table ventilation AL 400, downdraft ventilation VL 414 and ceiling ventilation AC 402.

Features

Flexibility for convenience and freedom of space

Infinitely dimmable, a warm white surface LED light on the island hood, the wall-mounted hood and the table ventilation ensures optimum cooktop illumination and a cosy atmosphere. A new feature of the 400 series models is the design of the controls, that now come in white and orange. The ventilation appliances all operate without a separate motor. They are combined with silent external remote fan units, which thanks to BLDC technology are long-serving, maintenance-free and energy-efficient. They can be built into the kitchen or outside, thus reducing noise at source and creating additional space. All models can also be operated in air recirculation orair extraction mode with a extraction capacity of up to 970 m³/h. The air recirculation module is fitted with an activated charcoal filter that ensures odour reduction comparable to exhaust air operation. Grease filters can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher.

Featuring advanced technology from the professional sector and classic Gaggenau design, the ventilation 400 series sets standards in function and style.

Island and wall-mounted hoods

With professional technology, and classic Gaggenau design, the hood is available in widths of 100, 120 and 160 cm as an island solution, and in widths of 90, 120 and 160 cm in the wall-mounted version. It can be combined with all the Vario cooktops 400 series models and other cooktops. Slanted baffle filters from the professional sector with grease absorption level of around 90 percent and a large collection area ensure maximum efficiency. In combination with the remote fan unit AR 400 143 the island and wall-mounted hoods are rated in energy efficiency class A.

Fully retractable table ventilation

The table ventilation AL 400 is ideal for cooking islands or high-ceiling open-plan rooms. Lifted out as required, it is discreetly retractable in the worktop when not in use. Vapours and odours are quietly and effectively extracted directly at source, the cooktop. In a sculpted design, in widths of 90 or 120 cm and a depth of 14 cm, it can be combined with all Gaggenau cooking appliances and is suitable for flush or conventional mounting. The table ventilation therefore blends perfectly into any kitchen architecture. In combination with the remote fan unit AR 400 142 the 90 cm wide table ventilation is rated in energy efficiency class A and the 120 cm wide model in energy efficiency class A+.

Downdraft ventilation

The downdraft ventilation VL 414 is a smart alternative to a traditional hood. It can be combined with all 38 and 60 cm wide appliances in the Vario cooktops 400 series – irrespective of whether they are built in with a visible edge or flush with the worktop. Vapours and odours are quietly and effectively extracted directly at source and extracted downwards. The model is particularly suitable for open kitchens and cooking islands. It offers headroom over the cooktop and is ideal for rooms that are unsuitable for traditional installation, for instance with sloped walls or where windows are directly behind the cooktop. In combination with the remote fan unit AR 403 122 the Vario downdraft ventilation is rated in energy efficiency class A.

Modular ceiling ventilation

In a minimalist design, the modular ceiling ventilation AC 402 offers maximum freedom of space in the cooking area. The system consists of separate filter modules, control modules with and without light and light modules that can be integrated into ceilings or kitchen architecture. It can be customised in size and performance to the relevant kitchen situation and individual needs. Thanks to its patented rim extraction filter the ceiling ventilation AC 402 is particularly quiet and efficient. In combination with the remote fan unit AR 400 142 it is rated in energy efficiency class B.
