Nestled on the majestic Promenade de la Croisette, surrounded by a magnificent landscape of the glistening Mediterranean Sea, pearl-white sandy beaches and lush palm trees, Hôtel Martinez has become an iconic luxury hotel in the glamorous city of Cannes since its opening in 1929. Now, 90 years later, the hotel boasts a fresh new look, and a new chapter in the hotel’s history begins.

Revered as a must-visit venue in the French Riviera, Hôtel Martinez represents the preferred Hotel of participating stars at the glitzy Cannes Film Festival, and as of spring 2018, the hotel has become more alluring than ever with its new design and décor. Under the aegis of interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who jump-started his career in 1985 designing the acclaimed two-starred Michelin gourmet venue La Palme d’Or, the hotel’s new look sports a sophisticated edge with décor inspired by its glorious French Riviera origins and Art Deco style.

The hotel’s facelift elegantly combines contemporary luxury with a Mediterranean lifestyle, and along with its fresh aesthetic, the hotel also boasts a new stature as a recently-added member of the exclusive “The Unbound Collection by Hyatt”.  Every detail in every space of the Hôtel Martinez has been reimagined, from the redesigning of the entrance hall to the redecorating of every one of the 409 rooms and suites.

The hotel’s new décor oozes the charm and grandeur of the French Riviera and its lifestyle. Yachting motifs are prevalent throughout, with palettes of classic white, clear blue and warm yellow enveloping the rooms, bringing the land, sea and sun indoors.  The Art Deco style is the anchor of the historical site, and in tribute to this, the entrance hall is draped in white marble from floor to ceiling, illuminated by boundless natural sunlight by day and a grandiose, awe-inspiring chandelier by night.

Stepping outside, you are immersed in a chic oasis of green by Le Jardin du Martinez. Akin to a charming little Provençal village square, the garden’s terrace is lined with blooming pomelos, myrtles and lemon trees, decorated with cork oak and perfumed by the most aromatic of plants. The characteristic postcard palm trees of Côte d’Azur round off the garden’s flora. In the center of this lush landscape lies an exquisite fountain, and during the summer season, to the backdrop of this serene setting, elegance meets jazz music in the course of the ‘Guinguette’ spirit nights.

Alongside Le Jardin, lies the new Martinez Bar, designed to celebrate the freedom and spirit of yachting. Marrying glamour and retro styles, the bar features varnished rosewood woodwork, blue leather, and hints of gold exuding all the elegance of the seaside. Top this setting off with a menu of specially created signature cocktails and delicious snacks cooked on a teppan plancha, and you have the perfect spot to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Version Originale is the hotel’s main restaurant which faces its Mediterranean garden Le Jardin du Martinez. Here, Chef Christian Sinicropi fuses global culinary traditions with local flavors and Mediterranean Sea products, to create iconic dishes inspired by the region. Expect a seasonal bouillabaisse with delicate fish and deep flavors or succulent grilled squid fresh from the ocean, served in a relaxed setting.

The restaurant La Palme D’Or, situated on the hotel’s first floor, is a must-visit dining venue in the Croisette. Rated two-starred Michelin, this gastronomic paradise overlooking the beautiful Bay of Cannes, offers an inventive cuisine around the concept of the ‘Movement’, served in ceramic dishes designed by Executive Chef Christian Sinicropi himself and crafted by his wife, Catherine, a ceramic artist.

The Hôtel Martinez is also the “rendez-vous” for wellness. At the Beauty Spa, L.Raphael, ultra-luxurious pampering treatments calm and revitalize the mind, body and soul. A haven of peace and tranquility, L.Raphael is the perfect place to unwind.

Unveiled in April 2019, La Plage du Martinez is the latest addition to the hotel’s exclusive offerings. A private beach club, La Plage du Martinez, offers up secluded beach lounging, delectable seaside dining and a host of exciting events, making it an unmissable place to be on La Croisette.
