Already renowned for its chic summer music scene, Domaine de Verchant has become even more alluring to lovers of tantalizing tunes with its stylish new outdoor area. Seamlessly added to the hotel’s bar-restaurant-pool complex La Plage by Verchant, the al fresco space leads guests into nature, as it flows out into Domaine de Verchant’s 13-hectare vineyard.
Providing an exclusive place to re-connect, unwind and relax among the vines, guests can select to sip on their sundowners on an array of deckchairs dotted along a new sandy beach or on comfortable couches between the vineyards.
The bar, which has been constructed using natural materials, features vegetal decorations and rattan furnishings that exude a wild and authentic ambiance. The bar propels out onto the new lounge area, providing a secluded spot to enjoy one of the fine vintages being served on the wine and champagne menu.
This year La Plage by Verchant celebrates its 5th summer season, and it will again be hosting a summer of live music, as it continues to tap into Montpellier’s thriving arts scene and modern youthful vibe.
With the arrival of sunny days comes Thursdays Live, Cocktails and Tapas – simple food created with great produce, colorful cocktails, and music from talented local artists and DJs; and Friday Musical Sunsets – relax and unwind in the bar and rendezvous with an artist at sunset for a suspended music moment.
Ad-hoc events on the playlist include a White Party on the 13th July; a Full Moon is Magic evening on the 18th July – a combination of magic, electro music and the full moon; and a 1582 evening, honoring the wines’ of the estate on the 12th September.
Alongside the new beach is La Plage restaurant by chef Jérôme Bartoletti. Here guests can enjoy small dishes from the tapas menu, an extensive la carte menu and a fresh from the market set menu that varies each day depending on what arrives at the local market, and Bartoletti’s mood. There is also his famed Sunday brunch with champagne – the perfect holiday combination.
La Plage by Verchant isn’t the only outstanding feature of Domaine de Verchant. The 16th century stone château houses 26 intimate bedrooms and suites all stylishly furnished in contemporary Italian fabrics by designer Raymond Morel. Fine-dining restaurant Verchant is presided over by chef Damien Cousseau, whose plates are inspired by the abundant availability of locally produced fish, meat, and organic vegetables – a must visit during any stay.
