I’d wake up in…
Barbados, one of my all time favourite places.
And stay at…
The iconic Sandy Lane. When you’re looking for relaxation there’s nowhere better, the first-class service allows you to literally ‘fly and flop’!
Breakfast would be…
A lot of Caribbean coffee (I have small children!).
I would wear…
Something easy in the day, like my favourite kaftan, which is perfect for throwing over swimwear and running around after the kids on the beach.
And take these travel essentials…
My iPad (to keep tabs on what’s happening at ITC HQ) and my sunglasses. Oh, and a nanny please…again…small children!
I’d listen to…
The waves lapping the shore on Sandy Lane’s legendary west coast beach; there’s no sound more relaxing and peaceful than that.
And visit…
The swim-up pool bar for one of their amazing rum punches…a ‘must’ when you’re on Barbados.
Have lunch at…
Would have to be the Lone Star. I love this beachside restaurant for its scrumptious fresh dishes, outstanding views of the Caribbean Sea and the fact it does fine dining so well WITH a children’s menu too!
Buy…
Hot pepper sauce for my husband. We always stock up when we’re in the Caribbean.
Hang out with…
Friends. Being a busy CEO and mum-of-two I don’t get much time to socialise so when I’m on holiday it’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, and on Barbados I have many.
Relax at…
Where else but the spa at Sandy Lane; some47,000 square foot of luxurious indulgence. It’s heaven!
Drink…
Again, a rum punch. Barbados’s national drink is my favourite and it just doesn’t taste the same back home in Blighty.
Chat with…
Other guests. Maybe it’s my years in travel, or my natural curiosity, but I love speaking to other guests when I’m abroad and find myself fascinated by their stories about why they chose that destination, how they booked, whether they’re enjoying their stay etc.
And wind down the evening having dinner at…
Cin Cin by the sea on the west coast. It’s chic, sleek and contemporary and offers the most mouth-watering menu.
