Set in Riscone, at the centre of the picturesque Pustertal Valley, Hotel Majestic occupies a position that feels both practical and privileged: close enough to Kronplatz/Plan de Corones to make the most of the mountains, yet grounded in a village with a life beyond tourism.
This balance between access and authenticity has always been part of Hotel Majestic’s identity. Rather than revolving around one season or idea, the hotel has grown through use—families returning year after year for winter skiing and long summer days spent outdoors, walking, cycling, and swimming. This connection to the landscape now guides the hotel’s next phase. In 2026, a comprehensive renovation will bring a new spa and a series of architectural updates, enhancing the hotel while preserving its charming character.
Rather than a complete overhaul, the renovation builds on what already exists, strengthening what makes the property unique. Its most significant addition is an expansive wellness area. Unfolding across several distinct sections, it’s designed to accommodate guests of different ages and preferences simultaneously, allowing them to share the hotel comfortably. At the top, an adults-only rooftop area features a Sky Pool stretching 25 metres, connected by a sky bridge and opening out towards uninterrupted views of Kronplatz. Below, an Onsen-style pool with warm water sits alongside cold plunge basins, while classic elements such as steam rooms and bio saunas are joined by an experiential sauna featuring fine ice snow.
Likewise, families are given ample space, encouraging movement and play. Multiple pools and an 85-metre tyre slide give children the freedom to expend energy without intruding on quieter zones elsewhere in the hotel.
Beyond the spa, the renovation extends to the hotel’s architecture and interiors. The façade will be modernised, and a new dining space and room categories will be introduced, including options designed specifically with families in mind. Throughout, materials and colours are drawn from the surrounding landscape, ensuring that even as the hotel evolves, it remains visually and emotionally tied to its locale. It’s an update that feels considered rather than cosmetic, guided by the same values that have shaped the hotel for three generations.
Location, of course, remains one of Hotel Majestic’s strongest assets. In winter, it is hard to overstate how convenient the setting is for skiers. Kronplatz is right on the doorstep, easily reached by ski shuttle, while a cross-country ski trail runs just steps from the hotel entrance. Guests can move effortlessly between breakfast and the slopes, or choose a slower pace on the loipe without ever needing a car.
Summer brings a different kind of energy. The hotel sits directly next to the local golf course and a large sports area that includes tennis and padel courts, a riding stable, football pitches, and even a small animal park for children. Hiking routes start close to the hotel, with guided walks offered throughout the year by certified local guides who know the area in depth. Cycling takes on a more prominent role during warmer months, too, with tours that follow valley paths or climb steadily into the surrounding mountains.
What sets Hotel Majestic apart, though, is not just what surrounds it, but how the hotel acts as a mediator between guests and the landscape. There is a clear understanding that wellness does not begin and end in a spa. It happens on a quiet morning walk through the forests, during active afternoons spent carving through fresh snow, or at leisurely dinners that reflect the flavours of South Tyrol. The hotel’s culinary offering plays an important supporting role here, echoing the seasons and drawing inspiration from the region without becoming overly precious about it.
That same mindset is reflected in how the hotel is run. Now in its third generation, Hotel Majestic remains family-led, with hands-on involvement in daily operations, guest experience, and future planning. That sense of continuity carries into the renovation, where decisions are made with longevity in mind. It’s an approach grounded in familiarity, trust, and a strong sense of responsibility to both guests and place.
Hotel Majestic also sits within a broader context. It forms part of the Majestic Resorts Dolomites collection, alongside Hotel Montis, a four-star active hotel in Riscone, and Hotel MyLiving in nearby Stefansdorf, a more informal B&B-style property that opened in 2025. Together, the three hotels offer distinct ways of experiencing the region, each shaped by a different pace and purpose, yet connected by a shared understanding of the landscape they inhabit.
