The world’s most highly acclaimed awards for showcasing the art of food photography and film have officially opened for its 2016 competition.
Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year

The Pink Lady® awards have fast become one of the most respected and diverse competitions in the World.

With 17 various categories to choose from when entering, all ages, skills, genres and food subjects are catered for. This varied approach allows for talent of all areas to shine through and highlights the differing conventions from around the globe.

Advanced photographer magazine commented that the:

“Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is fast becoming one of the world’s most well-respected and creative niche photo contests”

Previous winners have included French photographer Jean Cazals, Laos-based UK photographer Tessa Bunney and Romanian photographer Alexandrina Paduretu. The winner of last year’s competition was UK-based Australian photographer, David Griffen, with his momentous shot of a smoking chef cooking chicken wings taken in a street market in Kuala Lumpur.

Now open for entries to its 2016 competition, these prestigious universal awards received almost 6500 images from 56 countries in 2015. It is also estimated that since it began in 2011, more than 20,000 images have been submitted.

This year will also mark the celebration of its 5th year of showcasing food cultures from around the globe. To celebrate this momenumental moment, more categories such as the Marks and Spencers food adventures and food portraiture have been added to offer even more variation to creative food art.

With a judging panel comprised of well respected industry professionals such as Emily Luchetti, Chair of the James Beard Foundation, USA, David Loftus, Jamie Oliver’s photographer, Curtis Stone, Australian chef, TV host, and New York Times bestselling author, Dan Havlik, Editor-in-Chief, Shutterbug Magazine and Chris Beetles, of Beetles & Huxley, a leading gallery that specializes in photography.
