It’s almost time to hang out the stockings and snuggle up in front of the fire in your cosy slippers, with a warming eggnog and a ginger cookie in tow. This year, Les Prés d’Eugénie Hotel & Spa has curated an ultra-luxe itinerary of heart-warming activities for the festive season that includes a French Fables Christmas Eve Party, a Versailles Extravaganza and Fireworks New Year’s Party, alongside an array of smaller events set to run from 20 December 2019 to 4 January 2020.
Owned and managed by three-Michelin-star chef Michel Guérard and his daughters, Christmas at Les Prés d’Eugénie will be reminiscent of the festive season under the reign of the most sumptuous French King, Louis the XIV. Guests can take part in a Gold Leafing Workshop with a master guilder, a French Wine Tasting Class or Cocktail Lesson or indulge in a Sparkling or Royal Afternoon Tea. There will also be a Christmas and New Year Country Luncheon, cooking lessons and a Christmas gift shop, perfect for those last-minute gifts.
The Les Prés d’Eugénie estate is home to 25 rooms, 20 suites and apartments, three restaurants including fine dining three-Michelin-starred restaurant Michel Guérard, world-famous thermal spa La Ferme Thermale and a 50-acre vineyard. Gold Leafing Workshop – Learn the secrets of the beautiful, ancient art of gold leafing from French Master Gilder, Nicolas Dingli during a two-hour introductory workshop. Discover how to work with gold leaf and guild in gold a wood candle stick, which can be taken home. The course takes place on December 21st, 27th, 30th and January 3rd, and costs €140 per person.
French Wine Tasting Class – Delicate or bold, sweet or dry, red or white, guests are welcome to join the Sommelier for a one-hour tasting session of four fantastic French wines, during two festive tasting sessions. Classes on December 22nd and January 4th. Complimentary for guests.
Christmas Eve House Party – An evening of glamour commences from 6pm on Tuesday 24th December, where guests are ushered into Loulou’s Lounge Bar for a Winter Cocktail Workshop, followed by a festive dinner in La Ferme aux Grives rustic inn. A delicious four course meal will be served, followed by a mulled wine nightcap. €160 per person including pre-dinner drinks and a four-course meal.
Royal Afternoon Tea – There’s always room for afternoon tea, especially on Christmas Day, which is why a Royal Afternoon Tea of chocolate and champagne will be served on both Wednesday 25th December and Saturday 4th January at Café Mère Poule. Enjoy a selection of chef’s chocolate delights, served with creamy hot chocolate and a glass of Billecart Salmon Champagne. € 35 per person.
Sparkling Afternoon at La Ferme Thermale – Ideal for couples or those looking for a little ‘me’ time, enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea at Café Mère Poule, followed by a decadent spa session at La Ferme Thermale. Enjoy a rose bath, 40-minute body massage with centifolia rose oil and a 10-minute lavender hair and scalp massage. And after, why not indulge in a glass of Billecart Salmon Champagne. Available December 27th and January 2nd. €265 per person.
New Year’s Eve House Party – A sumptuous grand supper, akin to celebrations seen in the Court of Versailles, will commence at 7pm with a Champagne cocktail party. To follow, an unforgettable three-Michelin Star dinner designed by Michel Guérard. As the clock strikes midnight, a colourful fireworks display will begin accompanied by music from Handel. New Year Eve Dinner costs €550 per guest and includes all food and drink. A minimum three-night stay is required.
The Winter Week Offer – Available for €3,409 per person over Christmas or €3,794 per person over New Year and includes seven nights full board accommodation in a Classic Room, healthy or gourmet breakfast, healthy lunches and dinners, one Gourmet Dinner at Michel Guérard Restaurant, one Rustic Dinner at Ferme aux Grives, tickets to either the Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve House party, three morning yoga sessions, wine tasting, cocktail workshop and six morning or afternoon Hot Spring Treatments.
