A five-star property renowned for its remarkable urban and architectonic design, Hotel Suite Villa María effortlessly exudes the spirit of the traditional Canarian villages and hamlets of its native island. Each of the 78 select duplex villas boasts a private garden and en-suite rooms, providing an unparalleled level of familiarity, cosiness and quality of service, more than exceeding the expectations one would have of such an elite establishment.
Located on Tenerife’s southwestern coastline, within the Los Lagos Costa Adeje Golfing Complex, approximately one kilometre from La Caleta’s beachfront, the hotel offers impressive views both of the Atlantic and the southern Tenerife mountains. The property’s village-like atmosphere is brought to life by its high lava-stone walls; carved wooden balconies; lustrous green windows and tree-lined streets. The heart and soul of the Hotel Suite Villa María is the beautiful inner courtyard, where the hotel’s genial character comes to life.
The property’s entrance, which is flanked by beautifully large walkways, welcomes guests with grace. A special feeling floats in the air here, characterizing and identifying with the rhythms of Hotel Suite Villa María and its team of professionals. Upon arrival, guests are enveloped in this distinctive atmosphere, whisked away into a world of peace and tranquillity.
VILLAS
Tranquillity, calmness and the desire to live an unhurried life – but without stopping – that is the spirit of the villas. Soft details, elegant furnishings and calming hues define the interiors, which are steeped in the history of traditional Canarian architecture. The hotel has seven different villa types, each unique in layout, but all similar in philosophy: create a space of ultimate peace and relaxation.
The Villa Señorial with its impressive wooden balconies and whitewashed facades exhibits the solemnity of the great summer mansions of the XVI and XVII centuries, which were constructed in the principal Canarian towns of the era such as La Laguna or the district of Vegueta in the capital of Gran Canaria. Meanwhile, the Rural Villa transports guests back to the traditional farming centre of the islands and their historic houses characterized by wooden rustic porches and rugged walls.
The Villa Colonial transports guests back to the XIX century and the influence of the very first tourists and traders from Great Britain with its unmistakable Anglo-Saxon marine architecture. In contrast, the Villa Modernista is a replica of early urban construction of the XX century, similar to the actual present-day Canary Island structures.
The Villa Lanzarote is inspired by the picturesque houses of its eponymous island and provides an air of relaxation with its whitewashed walls and green carpentry. The Villa Neoclasica is inspired by the contemporary buildings found in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while the Villa Fusión is a harmonious blend of various different architectural styles.
Each of the villas was designed by talented architect Antonio del Pozo, whose passion for the island’s spirit can be seen at every turn. He himself defines it as “an individual hotel with its own personality as opposed to a massive and impersonal hotel complex. It was designed as a small village employing duplex type villas of different designs and cosy corners and areas where guests could really feel at home. ”
ACTIVITIES
Miles away from the usual crowded tourist spots, Hotel Suite Villa María is designed for those who seek to shy away from the noise – for those in search of a discreet and comfortable haven in which to unwind. Adults can enjoy quiet strolls through the indigenous-flora-caressed pathways; evenings spent by the pool or jacuzzi; affable rounds of golf at the esteemed Costa Adeje Golf Course or a little exercise at the islands’ finest training centre – Tenerife Top Training, which is located just across the road. Meanwhile, children can revel in the joys of the supervised Play Centre or Playground, where they can make many new friends and forge a host of unique childhood memories.
In April 2021, Golf Costa Adeje will hopefully host the Men’s Golf European Tour, which is set to be an exciting event for golf fans. Golf Costa Adeje is the most popular 18 hole golf course in Spain and this 18-hole course is only a 3-minute drive from the hotel. The equally enjoyable 9-hole golf course surrounds the hotel.
Another activity not to be missed when visiting the island is whale watching. Tenerife-La Gomera Marine Area is Europe’s first Whale Heritage Site as announced recently. The Whale Heritage Site programme is a globally recognised effort that identifies destinations that implement and celebrate responsible and sustainable whale and dolphin watching.

Getting to know the markets is being conscious of the culture of a place. I am happy with what I do and my intention is that one feels that in my kitchen.”
