Beverly Hills continues to host one of the largest concentrations of Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond properties in the United States.

 Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau have announced the prestigious AAA Diamond Ratings and Forbes Travel Guide’s Star Ratings at nine of its hotel properties and one of its restaurant properties making Beverly Hills the city with the second-highest number of five-star hotels (6) after New York (7).

The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, which opened in June 2017, received the Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Star Rating, the first for the brand in the Western Hemisphere. Other notable mentions include The Beverly Hills Hotel & BungalowsThe Peninsula Beverly HillsMontage Beverly Hills, and Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills.

This is the 60th annual list for Forbes Travel Guide, who sends incognito inspectors around the world to evaluate properties based on up to 900 rigorous objective standards focusing 75 percent on service and 25 percent on the quality of the facility.  Forbes Travel Guide will honor its 2018 Star Award winners in Beverly Hills on February 27 and 28, with celebrations planned at The Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.

AAA announced its list of top hotels and restaurants in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean based on their well-known Diamond System. Properties who request an inspection must meet a 33-point qualification checklist just to be considered for a rating and are evaluated based on member feedback and the experiences of AAA’s professional evaluators, who arrive to the hotel unannounced. The inspection is broken into five categories including Cleanliness & Condition, Management Style of Operations, Exterior and Public Areas, Guest Rooms and Guest Bathrooms.

Beverly Hills’ Forbes Star & AAA Diamond Award Winners

The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows – Welcoming each guest with a red carpet arrival, The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows has been operating since 1912 and is one of the most sought-after places to visit in Beverly Hills. With 208 guest rooms and suites and the iconic Polo Lounge restaurant, this hotel scored top ratings from both AAA and Forbes, with The Polo Lounge receiving a Recommended-Rating from Forbes Travel Guide.

The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills – The brand’s first West Coast property and one of the tallest buildings in Beverly Hills, opened its doors in June 2017 and has earned its first Forbes Five-Star hotel award. The hotel features 119 deluxe guest rooms and 51 suites, each with stunning views of the city, a dining program curated by renowned Michelin-starred chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose first West Coast restaurant, Jean-Georges Beverly Hills, earned a Forbes Four-Star award. Its spa, La Prairie Spa, also received a Forbes Four-Star rating.

Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills – A Forbes Travel Guide Inspector calls Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills a “celebrity magnet,” likely due to the amount of privacy the hotel offers its guests. From an underground garage with a red carpet entrance to the hotel, guest room doorways tucked into corridors instead of the main hallways and the option to be escorted directly to their room, bypassing the front desk, guests seeking privacy have come to the right place. This Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond hotel was once home to Warren Beatty and Elvis, who’s adoring fans would release balloons containing love notes up toward his terrace. The Spa at Beverly Wilshire received its second consecutive Forbes Five-Star rating this year, as a result of in its unique services, such as the Tension Reliever, which uses golf balls as a massage tool to soothe tension. Wolfgang Puck’s CUT Beverly Hills is located inside the hotel, which earned Four-Diamonds with AAA and Four-Stars with Forbes, while THE Blvd, serving local California fare with Mediterranean influences, earned a AAA Four-Diamond rating.
